The Kalarippayattu is the most ancient Indian martial art. It appears more than 4000 years ago in the current State of Kerala. The technique consists in creating very difficult figures giving great importance to both legs, knees and arms movements and to the hands and eyes strength. The techniques include weaponless fights, the use of knives, swords, shields, and both big and small sticks. The Kalari is known as “the mother of all the martial arts”, from karate to kungfu, from shaolin wushu to tai chi quan. The performance will include two blindfolded persons involved in acrobatic fights with and without weapons.
